We are currently working with two local community broadband groups, helping install and support their networks, which in turn enable people in remote parts of the Scottish Borders gain access to faster broadband.

img_0390.jpgMany of the locations are remote, providing challenges with managing IT which is exposed to the elements, along with sourcing suitable power supplies; on top of the more obvious access issues.

We have helped these community groups with the physical building of the network, along with advice and help to build out the network with resilient links, customer authentication and bandwidth management.

After working with a number of completely off grid sites, we also designed and developed custom battery and solar panel monitoring hardware; power at remote sites can now be tracked and pro-actively managed.

We have also set up a simple web, email, phone and SMS based help desk for customers, allowing tickets to be routed to the appropriate people within the groups to deal with.
